Lab , 1997

At City Mine(d), we are first and foremost doers - and we want to keep it that way.

But doing also means learning. The insights we gain along the way deserve to be shared, and given the time and space they require. That is how City Mine(d) Lab came into being.

City Mine(d) Lab is where we think, talk, write, and exchange. We work with researchers and knowledge institutions - preferably with people, not just papers, with public authorities and large networks of thinkers and tinkerers. Lab is all about texts, talks, thoughts, debates and drinks.

Lab is also where we look ahead: scanning the horizon, following emerging questions, and listening to those who are already working on what comes next (the “alpha geeks”). It is the place where themes take shape that can later grow into full City Mine(d) trajectories.

In recent years, we have worked with among others KU Leuven, Ghent University, VUB, ULB, University College London, Central Saint Martins (London), PUCE (Rio de Janeiro), UNAM (Mexico City) and Oxford University. But also VVSG, VITO, Bruxelles Environnement, Innoviris, VTi, CIVA.

Over the years, we have written and published quite a few texts around these topics (head-scratchers). To share what we are thinking about, what we are researching, and what we learn along the way.
We keep the list and links up to date under the heading "Things we like to Think and Write about" here.
