Met Generalized Empowerment en Micronomics (zie "About") begon City Mine(d) 20 jaar geleden aan een gigantisch traject rond lokale economie.
Met de Micronomics projecten (2006>2010) kwamen we tot de vaststelling dat veel van de skills en know-how die mensen ontwikkelen in projecten, niet erkend worden. Deze kleinste bouwstenen van economie in de stad, gaande van praktische skills rond organiseren, mensen samenbrengen en communiceren over een project tot verregaand begrip van en inzichten in stedenbouw, vinden maar moeilijk erkenning op de arbeidsmarkt.
In 2013 ondernam City Mine(d) een eerste poging om de kloof kleiner te maken in het voorstel "Level >> Playing Field" (Lees hier Eng).
A programme providing both professionals and those directly involved a first hand experience of limits and opportunities of co-creation. About insights into interests and forces that shape form and function of urban public space.
In 2015 werd deze aanpak erkend door de Europese Commissie in het project Euler rond de vraag: Can community action unlock and deepen skills of those disconnected from the labour market?
In het kader hiervan ontwikkelden we een “Framework for skills” (tekst 2017).
Euler leidde tot conclusies over de initiële vraag, gebundeld in een reeks boekjes op de website en in het artikel “Learning from context” (tekst 2017)
Uit dit alles trokken we enkele conclusies over de toekomst van werk:
Hierna startte City Mine(d) met het project Elephant Path in Londen.
